Here's a teaser for my collaborative piece with my amazeballs studio-mate nikki stitch! Gold leaf on videotape. There's a reason...read on.
This prep for our piece is slated for the "1985" show at Cottonwood Center for the Arts. It was originally scheduled for this month, in alignment with Prom and Graduation and all the angsty fodder I associate with that decade (b. 1974). It's moved to August now, and that simple adjustment encapsulates how weird the idea of time is for me...and you I think. But isn't that what we should be thinking about now? And applying a precious metal on a thing that we can enjoy just for today? You're invited to the 1985 show, opening Friday, August 7th. Bring your own resolve, baggage, optimism, glam rock, We'll still wear masks with our taffeta and bowties, Hopefully with the ironic aplomb appropriate for the occasion. 6 POINT PERSPECTIVE at Cottonwood Center for the Arts, The Long Hall Gallery, 2nd floor I've displayed with groups of artists before, but never before with this level of intention. Come see our points of view: divergent, modern, relevant, intimate, beautiful. Much love for my show-sisters: Felicia Kelly, Laura "Gates" Brown, nikki stitch!, Tara Cruz-Kelley, and Tracy Kuonen. The best time to visit is First Friday, May 3rd, 5:00 - 8:00 PM, but come visit anytime through the end of May. |
